VARTIKA RASTOGI is a student of Journalism at Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai, and has previously studied English Literature at Hindu College, University of Delhi. Her passion lies in close observation of art, literature, culture and politics. She began writing at a young age, and wishes to work towards the development of ethical, independent and responsible journalism in the country.

She has previously written for The Citizen, and has been published in Speaking Tiger’s Battling for India: A Citizen’s Reader (2019). She has also worked as a teaching fellow under Arts for Social Change India’s Jijivisha Fellowship, and wishes to soon bring to Indian journalism a more focused sensitivity towards women’s experiences. She currently divides her time between research, writing, sketching, satiating her voracious appetite for reading, and trying to develop a better-informed picture of the world.

You may read her weekly review of books on her Goodreads profile. You may also read her juvenilia, along with a few recent attempts at poetry and fiction, on her alternate blog, Punk Rock + Reticence.
